About Shelley Dodd
I was born in a small town in southeastern Idaho and grew up appreciating the outdoors with my father, an avid hunter and fisherman. I fell head over heels for painting in oil when I took my first lesson at age 13. I graduated from Utah State University with a BS in Business/Human Resources and always wished I would have majored in Art. It was at USU I met my husband. We were married in Logan, Utah and raised our four children there.
The beauty of the world has always captured my attention. My paintings rarely reflect a literal view. I am inspired by nature, and interesting combinations of color and shape. I have avoided the traditional path of an artist, probably breaking all of the rules in the process, and have found it a delightful pursuit.
